Is Kentucky easy to homeschool in?

Homeschooling is considered private schooling and requires a notice of intent at the beginning of the school year or when you begin homeschooling. Throughout the year 1062 hours over the course of 170 days of instruction is required by state law and your students will need quarterly report cards. Parents must also maintain educational records for each student including attendance, hours taught, and grades each 6-9 weeks. In spite of these few requirements, Kentucky is considered easy to homeschool in with little state oversight and low regulations. Make sure to check with HSLDA for the most up-to-date changes in homeschooling laws.
